The Atlas O Multi-Max represents one of our most ambitious and challenging O scale rolling stock models to date. Due to the difficulties that Atlas encountered during the design of the high quality end door details, Atlas found it necessary to have the doors glued shut. This was not an easy decision, but multiple engineers and test shipments all indicated that to maintain the integrity of this model, without shipping or handling damage, secured doors were our best option. To prevent damage, please do not attempt to open them. Thank you for your understanding and support.

In 1974, ACF® built the first box car for Railbox, a subsidiary of the Trailer Train Company. They went on to produce 5,400 50’ cars over the next six years, receiving large orders from Class I railroads, shortlines and box car leasing companies. This ATLAS O TRAINMAN® box car is a stunning replica, designed to enhance your layout and provide many hours of reliable operation.

The Atlas Product Spotlight - O Premier Streamlined Passenger Cars and Matching Locomotives

New Jersey commuter service went through a number of phases – from being covered by such railroads as the Erie Lackawanna and Jersey Central to the current operations of New Jersey Transit.  This “transition era” saw a collection of differently painted motive power, including the striking blue, silver and red “Bluebird” E8s in this run, pulling several different styles of coaches (including ex-ATSF Budd cars) in much plainer paint schemes.  However, the unique ex-NYC tavern-lounge car (represented in this run by a single car add-on diner) introduced many of the graphical elements that came to define and refine the NJT image in later years.
